The Official Brookburn Community School Uniform Policy:

Black/grey bottom (skirt or trousers)
Red or white top
School sweatshirt
Summer optional dress for girls
Shorts for boys/girls

School sweatshirts and polo shirts are available from yourschooluniform.com. see link above. Sensible footwear is recommended. If trainers are to be worn they should be black if possible. The wearing of jewellery is discouraged, particularly during PE lessons.

All children should have a pair of indoor soft shoes preferably plimsolls to change into once they are in school.  Slippers are not allowed. The indoor shoes should be clearly named.

The school can’t accept responsibility for loss or damage to items of value brought into school by the children.

PE KIT
From a health and hygiene perspective a change of clothing and footwear is necessary, an appropriate selection from the following: black shorts, black leotard, white t-shirt.  Black tracksuits may be worn for outdoor games/activities but only for warming up and cooling down purposes. Football strips should not be worn. Children are encouraged to work bare-footed indoors to develop sensitivity. Trainers/plimsolls are suitable for outdoors.
Children are not allowed to wear baggy clothing because of the danger of injury on the PE apparatus.
